Wild Dunes Resort, a Destination by Hyatt hotel in Isle of Palms, S.C., has named Robb Walker as Managing Director. Walker most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of Catalina Island Company in Avalon, Calif.
With 30 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry – leading first-class operations throughout the United States and Canada – Walker is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations in the Wild Dunes Resort community, with an immediate focus on the its new, 153-key Sweetgrass Inn, which opened earlier this year.
A Canadian-born hotelier, Walker has served in multiple senior level roles during his career, including Senior Vice President of Operations with Silverbirch Hotels and Resorts, and Chief Operating Officer of Pacific Hospitality Group.
Located on the northern tip of Isle of Palms, a lush barrier island north of Charleston, Wild Dunes Resort occupies 1,600 acres of oceanfront, with a variety of accommodation options, including the AAA Four-Diamond Rated Boardwalk Inn, the Village at Wild Dunes, private condos, luxury home vacation rentals, as well as the Sweetgrass Inn.
With the addition of the Sweetgrass Inn, Wild Dunes Resort, is the largest resort of its kind in the Lowcountry region. The resort features two Tom-Fazio-designed golf courses, tennis, a spa and several dining options.
