Angelo Arboleda is the new executive chef at Calaveras Cantina as the restaurant sails through a heated summer serving some of the coldest margaritas North Palm Beach County, Fla.
A graduate of the Florida Culinary Institute, Arboleda began his career as a line cook Cucina del’Arte (now Cucina Palm Beach) and later moved to Café Boulud in Palm Beach under Chef Jim Leiken. Arboleda opened The Woods Jupiter in the summer of 2015 as sous Chef under before joining Calaveras Cantina, which is located at Harbourside Place in Jupiter.
“Chef Angelo is incredibly talented, and Calaveras Cantina is thrilled to have his leadership now,” said restaurant owner Curtis Peery.
Arboleda has helped Calaveras Cantina’s move to more a more craft-taco approach its new menu, as well as develop a new brunch menu.
“We’ve developed a few great recipes and ideas, such as out Eggs Benedict served over arepas instead of the usual English muffin as well as a guava and mascarpone stuffed French toast,’’ Arboleda said. “I always want to keep things exciting and fresh.’’
Calaveras Cantina also some of area’s best specials, including Margarita Mondays with $5 specialty margaritas; $2 Taco Tuesdays (àl a carte, dine-in only); Guac Down Wednesdays featuring half-priced tableside guacamole all day long; and Thursday Ladies Night, which offers Happy Hour specials all night long.
