Omni Hotels & Resorts has named Mike Jorgensen as managing director of Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport, Omni’s development slated to open in early 2021. Jorgensen has more than 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry and a deep understanding of the Boston Seaport.
Prior to joining Omni, Jorgensen had roles at large-scale hospitality brands such as Hyatt, Four Seasons, Starwood and Marriott. Jorgensen has served as general manager of the Westin Copley in the Back Bay and most recently as general manager at the Westin Boston Waterfront.
“Mike’s decades of hospitality experience and expansive knowledge of Boston, and specifically the Seaport, make him a valued and critical player leading up to the hotel opening in 2021 and beyond,” said Peter Strebel, president at Omni Hotels & Resorts. “We are excited to welcome him to the Omni family.”
Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport will feature 1,054 guestrooms, including 52 suites that will top out at 21 floors with expansive views of the Boston Harbor. The hotel is located across from the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) in the city’s Seaport District. The property will feature multiple F&B concepts, full-service spa and fitness center, as well as an elevated pool bar and grill with the Boston skyline as its backdrop. With the largest hotel ballroom in Boston and 100,000 square feet of flexible space, Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport will be a hub for meetings and events in the city.
