Turkey Time in South Florida

Still undecided on where to spend Thanksgiving? Here are three good choices around South Florida.

Steelpan at Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beac, a Caribbean-American kitchen and bar, is offering a Thanksgiving Day buffet from 2 p.m to 9 p.m., that will offer a classic three-course menu of traditional Thanksgiving fare. Highlights include a cider and honeycomb-roasted turkey with a cranberry-orange relish; fragrant curried fall vegetables with quinoa and lentils; and brown sugar glazed and cured sliced ham.

Dessert options include old fashioned pumpkin pie with a spiced whipped cream or a traditional pecan pie with warm vanilla sauce.

On Nov. 27, the Rooftop at E11EVEN will be its annual Thanksgiving Special, featuring The Platter special for $28. If you can’t make it on Nov. 27, the Three Sliders Special for $16 is available Nov. 29 and Nov. 30.

In West Palm Beach, Northwood’s Café Centro on Nov. 26 at 6:30 pm will host Centro Uncorked: Friendsgiving. Chef Jamie Steinbrecher’s four-course menu ($70++ per person) will feature a selection of fan favorites with wine pairings.

Course One: Roasted Beets with pistachio yogurt, pickled pomegranate seeds, baby greens,
fresh dill {pairing: Sauvignon Blanc, Squealing Pig, Marlborough, New Zealand}

Course Two: Pecan Crusted Shrimp with sweet potato cake, blood orange-cranberry compote, jalapeno-maple glaze {pairing: Rosé, Vanderpump, Cotes de Provence, France}

Course Three: Roasted Pork Belly with apple-sage stuffing, whipped boniato, braised mustard greens, pan “gravy” {pairing: Pinot Noir, Smoke Tree, Sonoma, California}

Course Four: Pumpkin Bread Pudding with house made cinnamon gelato, bourbon caramel, whipped cream {pairing: Seasonal Cocktail: Apple Cider Mimosa}
