Kimpton Angler’s Hotel South Beach ready to show off new expansion, restaurant

This fall, Kimpton Angler’s Hotel South Beach celebrates the completion of a six-year, $61 million re-imagination with the opening of its new full-service restaurant, Seawell Fish n’ Oyster and the renovation and re-design of it hotel’s original buildings, including those dating back to the hotel’s 1930’s beginnings. The original hotel buildings and bungalows complement the hotel’s 85-room new addition, which opened in May 2018 and houses the living room lobby, Minnow Bar, and rooftop pool and sun deck.

On the 1930’s, the hotel was a favorite among sportsmen, including Ernest Hemmingway.

Located on Washington Avenue, just steps from the beach and Art Deco District, Kimpton Angler’s most distinctive offerings include a mix of accommodations suited to traveling friends, couples and families.

The hotel’s collection of five buildings features a total of 132 guest rooms ranging in size from 400- to 1,000-square feet and including studios, each with a lush terrace offering sunrise and sunset views; two-story lofts with cozy living area, spiral staircase, and second-floor bedroom; two-story villas situated amongst lush gardens with their own secluded private entrance; two-story spa villas with two full baths, private patio and Jacuzzi; and the three-story poolside bungalows with private rooftop terrace and outdoor shower and lounge area.

Seawell Fish n’ Oyster, a New England-inspired seafood restaurant, will be led by Chef Julian Garriga. It will complement Kimpton Angler’s popular Minnow Bar.
