1000 North in Jupiter, Fla., has a distinct pink glow this month – and it’s not just because of the stunning sunsets. The popular North County restaurant is supporting Susan G. Komen Florida during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Lee Morris, 1000 North’s general manager and culinary director (and one of my favorite SoFla chefs) is sporting a pink wig as he has joined Susan G. Komen’s BigWig on the Front Lines. The campaign engages the community to fund breast cancer treatments and education in Florida. Morris is recruiting guests and members at 1000 North to back his efforts.
“As a husband, and the father of a little girl, I feel compelled to help find a cure for this disease that affects so many women,” said Morris. “This is a fun way to raise awareness, and besides, I look great in pink!”
During the month of October, 1000 North will also donate $2 from the sale of every Frosé to Susan G. Komen Florida.
