As the temperatures cool off, 1000 North in Jupiter, Fl., is mixing up a hot list of libations featuring whiskey, rum, or tequila – just not in the same glass.
For example the Partridge in a Pear Tree (feature photo) gets guests set for the holidays as it wraps pear nectar-infused brandy with Volcán De Mi Tierra tequila, La Guita Manzanilla, and grapefruit and lime juices. Celery, grapefruit, and cardamom bitters tie it all together. The cocktail is served in a bird-shaped glass.
The White Christmas Mojito features vanilla-simple syrup and coconut milk, mix smoothly with Flor de Caña 4 Year rum and lime. It’s a creamy holiday version of the traditional Cuban cocktail.
The Winter Old-Fashioned employs the trendy preparation of sous vide to update this classic cocktail. Oranges, cherries, and maple syrup that have been cooked slowly, sweeten and flavor 1000 North’s signature Buffalo Trace whiskey.
Mom’s holiday apple pie has been plucked from its pedestal by the Apple Cider Whiskey Sour, featuring the crisp flavors of Rattlesnake Rosie’s Apple Pie whiskey, swirled with lemon juice, cinnamon simple syrup, egg white, and Angostura bitters.
Season any evening with the House Made Horchata. The authentic Mexican beverage is made merry with spiced rum and A Midwinter Nights Dram. The rum and rye whiskey combine with rice milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg to produce a drink that tastes like a cream-topped plum pudding.
