Here’s a dinner pairing that will tug for an outstanding cause. On Aug. 15, at 6:30 p.m.,
Okeechobee Steakhouse in West Palm Beach will host a special BBQ & Bourbon pairing dinner
featuring the steakhouse’s signature BBQ.
During the dinner, owner
Ralph Lewis, along with his customers and partners, will auction off rare and exclusive
bottles of bourbon, with all proceeds benefitting Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Lewis’ two-year-
old granddaughter, McKenna was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome in 2017 and
has spent over 75 days at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami since birth, giving
this charity dinner an even more special meaning.
The six course menu will include:
Course One: Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Poblano Peppers with Venison, Smoked Gouda, Wild Greens
Course Two: Pulled Pork Flat Bread, Bourbon Fig Jam, Chipotle Salsa, Cotija Cheese
Course Three: Crispy Smoked Duroc Pork Belly, Pickled Vegetables, Homemade Sweet BBQ
Couse Four: Smoked Turkey Breast with Smoked Butter, Cornbread Salad
Course Five: Smoked USDA Prime Beef Brisket, Onion Soubise, Bourbon BBQ Hollandaise, Fire Roasted Corn Salsa
Course Six: Chocolate Bourbon Smore Cupcake with Smoke Almond Brittle
As the bourbons will be donated by the steakhouse’s top connoisseurs, the pairings and auction giveaways will be announced at the event.
