The Keys Collection, a group of hotels in Key West, has partnered with Kino Sandals, a famed sandal factory in Old Town Key West since 1966, to launch a “1-Hour Sandal Delivery” program for hotel guests.
Through the front desk, hotel guests can order a pair or three of these handmade Key West souvenirs and have them delivered directly to their hotel door within one hour. Guests can also purchase the sandals pre-arrival, and have them waiting for them upon check-in.
“For any visitor traveling to Key West, Kinos is part of the itinerary and the attire,” said Alan Brand, VP of operations at The Keys Collection. “We are proud to support local family owned and operated businesses, such as Kinos, with creative partnerships like this that ensure memorable experiences for our guests.”
The service is offered daily at The Gates Hotel Key West and the 24° North Hotel between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. from Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. The program will offer the classic thong-style sandals for children and adults for $20.43..
“Countless travelers visit our stores each day because of a sandal mishap while on vacation,” said Kinos manager Robert Ruiz. “We are grateful that The Keys Collection recognizes Kinos as a Key West staple and wants to partner with us for this opportunity.”
Kinos has operated in Key West for over 50 years, was founded by an entrepreneurial Cuban exile, Robert T. Lopez, and his wife, Margot. The business continues to live on by Lopez’s family, which includes longstanding employees who make leather sandals by hand.
The sandals, once only available in the brick and mortar Kinos shop in Old Town, will now be available in 24 North’s sundries store Latitude Supply Co., on The Keys Collection’s website and as a room upgrade.
In addition to The Gates Hotel Key West, 24° North Hotel, The Keys Collection includes Hilton Garden Inn Key West/The Keys Collection and Fairfield Inn & Suites Key West at The Keys Collection. The Keys Collection is managed by Highgate, a real estate investment and hospitality management company whose portfolio includes more than 100 properties in gateway cities worldwide.
