Celebrate Mom in South Florida

Mother’s Day (May 12) is always a special. Now less than one week away, here’s a look at some special places, menus and cocktails in South Florida to celebrate with Mom and the entire family.

50 Ocean (Delray Beach)

Start the day with the bottomless Grey Goose Bloody Mary Bar, offering a choice of more than 30 ingredients, including filthy pickles and olives, sweet chili asparagus and cherry peppers. Or toast Mom with bottomless mimosas.

Shareable bites will include Colossal Coconut Shrimp on a cress and fennel salad, with mango-chili aioli, or add some crunch with the Tempura Cauliflower with house made kimchee; Key Lime Merengue that delivers all of its sweet, tart, and tasty elements.

Here’s a look at a Executive Chef Thomas Op’t Holt’s special menu.

Ceviche
Sea scallops, corvina, maple-glazed sweet potato, lime, celery, aji amarillo

Eggs Sardou
Creole-style Laughing Bird shrimp, creamed spinach, artichoke hearts

Seafood Cobb
Jumbo lump blue crab, cold-water lobster, Florida shrimp, Nueske’s bacon, greens, green goddess dressing

Prime Rib
Slow roasted, mashed potatoes, asparagus, au jus

Chilean Sea Bass
Miso glazed, shiitake mushrooms, broccolini

Ravioli
House stuffed with 5 cheeses, Parmesan broth, basil, San Marzano tomatoes

Chitarra
House made pasta, osso buco ragu, pecorino al tartufo

Avocado Grill (West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Garden)

Each location will host a Mother’s Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Plus, Palm Beach Gardens diners will have a bottomless Bloody Mary Bar.

Chef specials will include:
– Seafood + Corn Risotto
– Macadamia Crusted Snapper over watermelon + heart of palm
salad with a passion fruit sauce
– Crab Benedict

Full brunch and vegan menus also will be available.

Farmer’s Table (Boca Raton)

Led by Chef Michael Schenk, the culinary team is preparing an assortment of holiday dishes with vegan and gluten-free options.
In addition to Farmer’s Table’s traditional brunch menu, the Mother’s Day brunch buffet will include Almond Milk Challah French Toast and Assorted Pancakes; Omelettes Made to Order; and Seasonal Florida Fruit Bounty with assorted cookies and sweet bites.

The dinner buffet will offer Gnocchi & Spätzle Fondue Station; Herb Roasted Rib Eye Carving (Grass-Fed & Grass-Finished Strauss Farms Rib Eye, Demi Glace & Horseradish Sauce).

A la carte Brunch and Dinner menus will include House Cured & Smoked Salmon; Almond Milk Brioche French Toast; and Prosciutto Caprese Breakfast Casserole; All Beef Bolognese; and Shrimp & Lobster Shepherd’s Pie.

Executive Chef Bill Ring’s menus will include Vanilla Berry French Toast; Wagyu Sirloin Steak & Crab Cake; and Pan-Seared Halibut.

Serving its healthful regular menu through the day, guests can these new Mother’s Day items with any number of Harvest’s farm-to-table brunch, lunch and dinner Spring dishes to complete your celebration.

Brunch selections include the Grass-Fed Brunch Burger; Carrot Cake Waffle; Sweet Pea Ravioli, Lemon Thyme Chicken and the Impossible Vegan “BBQ” Burger;

The Tuck Room (North Miami)

Raise a glass to mom with – the Mom-osa – made with LaMarca Prosecco, El Corazon Purée and topped with a red rose petal.

The Tuck Room’s array of social plates will include Brioche-Crusted Crab Cakes, Seared Atlantic Salmon and Meatza Pizza, as well as dessert favorites such as the Chocolate Pudding Parfait.
