Universal’s Aventura Hotel shines with price and location

Universal’s Aventura Hotel in Orlando has so much going for it that it’s difficult to know where to begin. But let’s start with location. Aventura Hotel, which opened this past August?, has a pathway to Universal’s Volcano Bay water park and is a short walk from Sapphire Falls hotel that takes guests via boat to Universal’s Island of Adventure and Universal Studios theme parks, as well as the City Walk dining and shopping district.

“Our location pretty special,’’ said Aventura Hotel Managing Director Stephen Cummings. “The excitement we’ve had since we opened has exceeded all expectations.’’

Indeed. For those looking for high-end resort experiences at value prices (around $120 for a standard room), Aventura Hotel should be at the top of the list. For example, the 600-room hotel is the only hotel on Universal Orlando property with in-room tablets that control everything from the lights to the TV to the air conditioning.

“You can even order pizza or a beer late a night,’’ Cummings said with a smile. “We don’t encourage it, but you can really do everything from your bed.’’

With a free flowing, bright and comfortable lobby area, Aventura Hotel has five dining outlets, including the Urban Pantry food hall that serves a variety of entrees from Chinese cuisine to pizza and burgers, as well as the rooftop Bar 17 Bistro, which is a great place for Happy Hour drinks and snacks while looking out over the Universal theme parks, a pool (just outside barVentura), fitness center and game room.

The 13 Kids Suites at Aventura Hotel each sleep five guests and feature a interior area that includes two twin beds.

A “Prime Value’’ hotel in Universal Orlando’s portfolio of hotels an resorts that includes Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Hotel, Loews Portofino Bay, Hotel Loews Royal Pacific Resort and the Hard Rock Hotel, Aventura Hotel offers many of the same benefits as its more expensive sister properties, including early park admission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Volcano Bay.

Guests at Aventura Hotel also have charging privileges and access to sister Universal Orlando hotels and resorts. That is, if you’re staying at Aventura Hotel but want to spend the day poolside at Royal Pacific, simply present you room key and enjoy the day.

“The ease of using a guest room key at each hotel in the park lends itself to a seamless experience,’’ Cummings said. “Its all big one experience.’’
