Salamander Hotels & Resorts looking to develop new oceanfront hotel at Hammock Beach

Salamander Hotels & Resorts is looking into possibly redevelop its 20-room Lodge at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla., into a larger oceanfront hotel. The Lodge is the sister hotel to the more-than 300 suites in the Main Tower at Hammock Beach, which features the Jack Nicklaus-designed Ocean Course and the nearby Conservatory Course designed by Tom Watson.

“The Lodge really is a special experience because you are flanked by the oceanfront nines of the Ocean Course,’’ Salamander Hotels & Resorts President Prem Devadas told me. “It’s right there on the dune line overlooking the ocean. We think we have the opportunity to develop a new luxury hotel on the beach, and we’re putting all efforts into doing that.’’
