A Valentine’s Day feast of dining options in South Florida

Still looking for a good spot to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Here are some of my favorite South Florida restaurants to find Cupid’s arrow:

Seminole Casino Coconut Creek will offer special menus at four of its dining venues on Feb. 14 as well as a variety of entertainment and a $50,000 Giveaway.

Nectar (Seminole Casino Coconut Creek)


Cupid’s Kiss is a sweet and citrusy blend of sweet vermouth, scotch, Heering cherry liqueur, and orange juice. The Cupid’s Kiss will be available on Valentine’s Day at Nectar, Sunset Grill, and level2.

NYY Steak (Seminole Casino Coconut Creek)

One of South Florida’s great steak houses, NYY Steak will offer Valentine’s Day features (5 p.m. to 11 p.m.) such as platinum oysters; filet mignon and Maine lobster; pan-seared cobia; lobster mashed potatoes and chocolate strawberry mousse cake for dessert.

Sorrisi (Seminole Casino Coconut Creek)

At Sorrisi, Valentine’s Day features will be available from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and include prawn and lobster bisque; burrata; colossal lump crab cocktail; veal osso bucco; ricotta gnocchi; wild sea bass; and espresso flourless chocolate cake for dessert.

Fresh Harvest (Seminole Casino Coconut Creek)

Fresh Harvest will serve chef-inspired holiday favorites between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. ($42 per person; $17 for children 10 and under). The menu will include endless mimosas, as well as sparkling wine and house wine. Among the items offered will be oven roasted turkey; prime rib; slow-roasted brisket, charred NY strip; pan-roasted tilapia; and assorted sushi. There will also be a wide variety of desserts and pastries available.

1st Street Deli (Seminole Casino Coconut Creek)

Valentine’s Day features will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. The menu will include tomato bisque; citrus, strawberry and avocado salad with grilled shrimp; chicken marsala; steak Oscar; and red velvet cheesecake for dessert.

Entertainment (Seminole Casino Coconut Creek)

Jenny Love will perform in Legends Lounge at 7 p.m., and Charlie Sullivan will take the stage in Nectar at 8 p.m. The Beach Dogs will be in Sunset Grill at 8 p.m. and John Giamundo will perform in Sorrisi at 5 p.m.


Cantina Laredo (Hallandale Beach)

The Mexican eatery at Gulfstream Park will feature the Valentine’s Especialidad, a three-course prix fixe meal with optional cocktail pairings.

Valentine’s Especialidad includes:

Ensalada de Mango
Mango with jicama, seasoned pumpkin seeds, grapes, mint, and queso fresco with honey vinaigrette
Sopa de Pollo con Vegetales
Creamy vegetable soup with chicken, topped with tortilla strips and queso fresco

Casa Dragones Blanco Tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, Monin Rose Syrup, and Chipotle Pepper

Beauty and the Beeeef (Wellington)

Located inside the Mall at Wellington Green, the burger-centric restaurant is hosting a “Love Bites’’ party from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. that includes a complimentary “Have a Drink On Me” open bar, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., that will have an assortment of domestic beers, house wines, and specialty cocktails.

Executive chef Andris Salmanis will offer menu selections for surf and turf lovers, including a pan-roasted Atlantic black sea bass with rock shrimp, hearts of palm and saffron cream; the prime barrel cut ribeye with black truffle potato gratin, sautéed white asparagus and bone marrow compound butter; and housemade seafood cannelloni with lobster, shrimp, blue crab, and artisan ricotta. End the night on a sweet note with the floral bouquet cake accompanied by rose mousse, shaved white chocolate, and wildflower honey tuiles.

The Sweetheart Menu is $170 per couple. An a la carte menu is also available.
