Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club, a new luxury hotel in Miami Beach, has opened its two destination restaurants – Donna Mare Trattoria and Bungalow by The Sea, each under the culinary direction of Chef-Partner Manuel Mattei.
Wine lists available throughout the hotel feature a strong emphasis on rosé, with more than 12 varietals to choose from, reflective of Cadillac’s European-inspired sensibility. The hotel’s Lobby Bar offers two specialty rosé flights featuring delicious rosés sourced from California, Italy and France.
Donna Mare, located on Miami Beach’s famed Collins Avenue, evokes the old-world atmosphere of Italy while embracing its location in Miami Beach. Mattei, who is originally from Italy’s Lombardy region, created the concept to pay homage to his roots and his mother’s legacy of preparing authentic cuisine from the heart.
The menu features light, locally-sourced traditional fare and seafood, including Neapolitan pizzas from a wood-fire oven, homemade pastas, locally-caught grilled fish and grass-fed meats, all prepared in a modernly-designed open kitchen
Dinner dishes spotlight Italian favorites, such as in Branzino in Padella with butternut squash, potatoes and spinach; Genovese Wood Oven Pizza with pesto, mozzarella, arugula and parmesan; and Linguine Vongole with Manilla clams, garlic, parsley and pinot grigio.
“I look forward to sharing my mamma’s legacy with those living in, and visiting, Miami Beach through traditional dishes that give diners a taste of coastal Italy,” Mattei said. “Fresh ingredients are at the heart of every dish we prepare, just like they were when I was growing up. Both Donna Mare Trattoria and Bungalow by the Sea bring a South Florida twist to classic Italian cuisine, perfectly situated at the Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club.”
Bungalow by the Sea, is an outdoor, coastal chic destination with views of Miami Beach.
Morning offerings include freshly squeezed juices, Italian Caffè Vergnano coffee and European-inspired bites. The afternoon menu is highlighted by simple cuisine and a daily fisherman’s catch, with signature dishes including Mini Maine Lobster Rolls with Shoestring Fries; Wild Tuna Tartare with Meyer Lemon, Avocado and Cilantro; and a Wagyu Beef Cheeseburger with Arugula, Heirloom Tomato, White Cheddar, Red Onion Jam and Secret Sauce.
Specialty cocktails include the Cadillac Margarita made with Don Julio Silver Tequila, organic lime juice, organic agave and Gran Marnier, and Cadillac Frosé made with rosé wine, Absolut Vodka, strawberries and simple syrup.
