The Sarasota Modern – A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, part of Marriott International, Inc. – is set to debut in late 2018.
Located in the heart of downtown, within the epicenter of the urban “Rosemary District,’’ the 89-room luxury boutique hotel fuses architecture with minimalist design and artistic flair.
Inspired by European design and 1940’s modernism in South Florida, the hotel blends indoor and outdoor living through seamless lines accessorized with two aqua pools, a hot tub and crisp white private cabanas, creating micro-paradises within a resort-style atmosphere. The hotel will feature 10,000 square feet of meeting space, spa services and Rudolph’s, a curated restaurant.
“Hotels have really developed into these extensions of our personality,” said Paul Romero, director of sales and marketing, The Sarasota Modern. “When we travel, we search for a destination that represents us, within a location that creates experiences to inspire us. We have done just that and more with The Sarasota Modern by delivering a backdrop for the elite, all within an attainable price point for the modern traveler.”
Managed by StepStone Hospitality, The Sarasota Modern was designed in collaboration with Hoyt Architects based in Sarasota, Stephen Chung – a Boston-based architect and architects from the Sarasota School of Architecture movement.
“We’re thrilled to be opening within the Rosemary District which has quickly become the area’s hot spot,” said Jason Cincotta, hotel developer and president of Cincotta Co. “Additionally, we’re proud to give a nod to the neighborhood history through our storytelling and design, while still evolving with the city and delivering the modern conveniences people expect. We’ve created a space that’s both in Sarasota and of Sarasota.”
