Ready, aim, fire, or Shoot Fore Par!
Mission Inn Resort & Club is combining golf and shooting into one affordable package, starting Sept. 15 through Dec. 11. Guests can experience two golf courses at one of Florida’s iconic venues with an option for a trap and skeet shooting experience. Mission Inn is 35 miles northwest of Orlando in the town of Howey-in-the-Hills.
The experience begins with the historic El Campeón (The Champion), one of the oldest 18-hole courses in the South. Opened in 1917 – and an original member of the Florida Historic Golf Trail – El Campeón offers a classic design accentuating the landscape’s 85-foot elevation changes that are unique to central Florida.
Las Colinas (The Hills), which opened in 1992, lives up to its name with wide fairways rolling over gentle rises. Las Colinas incorporates water hazards on many holes, with large, undulating greens surrounded by tropical vegetation.
The El Cazador Trap and Skeet Range offers guests an opportunity to participate in clay sports. In trap, a single machine throws targets as the competitor moves through five different stations. In skeet, two machines throw targets while participants move through a semi-circle of stations. Targets, shells, guns, eye and ear protection, safety and instructional advice are included in the package.
The two golf courses, coupled with the shooting experience, present three distinctive challenges and the Shoot Fore Par! package, which also includes:
- A choice of guest accommodations
- Buffet breakfast following each night’s stay
- One round of golf on each of the championship courses (two rounds total per person)
- Unlimited range balls daily
- Club cleaning, storage
- Shared cart for each round
- $100 Resort credit (which may be applied to shooting or other meals, experiences at the resort)
Packages start at $273 per person, per night, based on double occupancy and a two-night minimum.
