Bowlicious, a new build-your-own-bowl restaurant concept, plans to open its doors July 17 at 11:00 am at 1823 E. Commercial Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. The first 50 customers on July 17 will receive complimentary Bowlicious swag items, and a two-for-one (BOGO) offer valid during a future visit.
Bowlicious offers three bowl sizes (kids, regular and large) filled with fresh ingredients at modest prices. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
“I’m passionate about helping our community eat fresher and live fitter in a family-friendly environment,” said local, independent restaurateur, Matthew Freeman. “We’re committed to offering our guests build-your-own-bowls that are flavorful and filling. We think there’s a huge market for what we offer, and we’re beyond excited to open our doors and welcome our neighbors.”
Executive Chef Gustavo Baldovino has curated a menu that caters to everyone from carnivores to herbivores. The menu is entirely gluten-free (even the desserts) and is designed to have low levels of sodium and sugar; all meats are hormone and antibiotic-free; and fresh vegetables are prepped daily on site. All beverages are organic, and feature local, cold-pressed juices and craft sodas.
Guests can select one of the nutritious bases that include fresh mixed greens; citrus champagne quinoa; kale, spinach and strawberry salad; spicy sweet potato noodles; vegan brown rice; and Spanish cilantro basmati rice. A wide variety of natural veggies and proteins are included; plus optional add-ons such as pineapple cole slaw, sliced avocados, and beets; then topped off with a choice of specialty sauces made from scratch.
