Overtown Music & Arts Festival, produced by Headliner Market Group, will be held July 14. It’s a free music event that serves to benefit Miami’s historic Overtown neighborhood with local food, art vendors and crafts.
This year, Overtown Music & Arts Festival will offer new activities and performances to debut at the Teens Exercising Extraordinary Success (T.E.E.S.) Youth Zone presented by the Green Family Foundation. This “mini festival” at Overtown serves to cater to the festival’s younger attendees with activations such as the “What’s Cooking Tent,” where kids will get the opportunity to make their own quesadillas and create their own cupcakes, as well as stellar performances from popular teen dance duo Ayo & Teo, along with Young Gordon, Maybach, A.K., Mecca, Nahriyah, Dentrick, S.E., AADIJ, Queen K, and Young Chedda.
The Miami-Dade Public Library System will also be setting up a library resource table onsite and the HistoryMiami Museum will have an art activity and archaeology touch table as well.
Other activations at the Youth Zone will include the Fitness Zone powered by personal fitness instructor Demarco Dodson, a Create-Your-Own Koolaide Play Dough station, and an opportunity to perform hands-on science experiments presented by the James Wilson Bridges Medical Society.
