As the South Florida weather heats up, so do the summer deals offered by one of my favorite Palm Beach restaurants – Chez l’Epicier.
From May 15 – October 31, diners receive supper specials, including all-you-eat P.E.I mussels and French fries on Thursdays. The mussels, as the pièce de résistance of summer, are prepared with five different sauces— white wine, shallot and garlic; Dijon mustard; bouillabaise; coconut milk and curry; and tomato arabiatta, plus the hand cut, house-made French fries. The price is $25 per person (no sharing) for unlimited flights of moules, frites, and flavors.
Friday evenings feature a “taste of tartares,’’ in which Chef Laurent Godbout has provides a light alternative for summer dining. The menu features chopped, chilled and seasoned beef, tuna, salmon, beet, avocado and tomato – each served with toppings. Appetizer portions and entrée dishes are available and pricing is $12 – $18 for starters and $24 – $36 for main courses.
Guests who are willing to dine early can take advantage of early dinner specials featuring 50 percent savings on all entrees from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Finally, the three-course, prix fixe value menu includes a choice from four starters, four entrees and three desserts. First course selections include: Watermelon and tomato gazpacho, watermelon salsa or smoked salmon deviled egg, mixed green salad, dill and lemon confit vinaigrette and more. Entrée options include: roasted root vegetable, Greek yogurt, ancient grains, watercress; PEI steamed mussels, lemon and shallot broth or Dijon sauce, French fries; and, orecchiette, local shrimp, braised leek, diced pear, pink peppercorn and star anise sauce. Pricing is $36 per person.
For summer hours, the restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
