The Cooper in Palm Beach Gardens hosting “Dine for a Cause” to benefit Autism Speaks

April is Autism Awareness Month and the The Cooper, one of my favorite Palm Beach Gardens restaurants, is making it easy to take action people who have autism spectrum disorder.

On April 8, The Cooper is hosting the third annual Dine for a Cause to benefit Autism Speaks of Palm Beach County. The Cooper will donate 10 percent of sales from that day to the organization. Autism Speaks is the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization. It is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and a cure for autism.

The one-day fundraiser means more to the staff at The Cooper than simply supporting a charity, it’s personal. Bobby Venetianer, the restaurant’s Director of Community Outreach, has a child on the spectrum.

“With the prevalence of autism, most of us know someone who is on the spectrum, or a family that has been affected. The Cooper is proud to help raise funds and awareness, and hopefully change some lives,” Venetianer said.

The Cooper is a farm-to- table restaurant specializing in the finest foods and beverages sourced, whenever possible, from local farms, food artisans, small-batch distillers, and craft brewers.
