Boca West Country Club hosting gala, concert for Boca West Children’s Foundation

Boca West Children’s Foundation has announced its schedule of events for its “Battle for the Kids Foundation Days”. The Foundation will host its $200,000 Golf Challenge on April 9 and will present its Concert for the Children featuring a “Battle of the Bands:Chicago vs. Billy Joel” on April 10 at Boca West Country Club.

Funds raised will benefit at-risk children and their families in Boca Raton and South Palm Beach County.

Each day, Boca West Children’s Foundation serves more than 5,000 children. Its volunteers give 45,000 hours of their time annually to the 24 charities with which the organization works.  All tickets sold directly benefit the participating charities.

The $200,000 Golf Challenge on April 9 will host 500 golfers and is the largest charity golf tournament in South Palm Beach County. Admission includes golf play, brunch, a duck for the $5,000 Duck Drop, admission to the evening gala cocktail party including live auction and awards presentation, as well as one ticket the “Battle of the Bands: Chicago vs. Billy Joel” the following day.

Golf registration starts at 11 a.m., players tee off at 1 p.m., and the cocktail party follows at 5:30 p.m.  Cost is $600 per person. Additional cocktail party tickets are $150.

On April 10, members of the band Beginnings, the authorized Chicago tribute band, will face off against the band for Billy Joel starring Mike DelGuidice in the “Battle of the Bands: Chicago vs. Billy JoelThe concert will feature dance floors in front of the stage and a Florida State Fair theme throughout. Food from the finest gourmet food trucks in the area and beverages are included in the cost of admission.

 Beginnings will be playing Chicago’s favorites “Hard to Say I’m Sorry,” “You’re the Inspiration,” “If You Leave Me Now,” “Will You Still Love Me,” and many others.

Billy Joel’s band and DelGuidice will perform Billy’s #1 hits “Uptown Girl,” “The Longest Time,” “We Didn’t Start The Fire,” “Only The Good Die Young,” “New York State of Mind,” and “Piano Man.”

​Gourmet food truck selections will include everything from BBQ fare to Philly cheesesteaks, crab cakes, and lobster rolls, as well as American, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and Kosher style cuisine. There will also be specialty desserts to include gourmet milkshakes, gelato, cupcakes, and more. Tickets include all food as well as soft drinks. Other beverages are available for purchase.

All concert tickets are $200 and seats will be assigned by a drawn lottery. The event will be held on the Great Lawn of Boca WestCountry Club with doors opening at 6 p.m. and performances beginning at 8 p.m.

The Foundation and its participating charities are also selling raffle tickets. Tickets are $25 each or 5 for $100. All funds benefit the charities directly. Prizes include a $5,000 shopping spree at Saks Fifth Avenue at Boca Town Center; a one-week stay at Galley Bay Resort in Antigua; and an “On the Fly” Celebrity Cruise. Winner will be drawn on April 9, 2018 at the Gala Cocktail Party and Live Auction. Need not be present to win.
