As ski season in the Rockies slowly begins to wind down, Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Club is looking to open terrific Tunnel Mountain 9 course on May 4, and its acclaimed Stanley Thompson Course, widely considered one of the best golf courses in the world, on May 11.
This golf season marks a milestone for fans of Stanley Thompson, perhaps Canada’s most celebrated golf course designer. Sept 18, 2018 marks the 125th anniversary of his birth. To honor him, Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Club is holding a special celebration. Golfers will receive a commemorative gift. Each group will play with a forecaddie, and get a rare opportunity to play the Stanley Thompson Course from its original rotation, starting at the current No. 15 tee adjacent to the Waldhaus Pub & Patio, formerly the original clubhouse.
