The Shelborne South Beach and Top Chef Alums Jeff McInnis and Janine Booth have combined to introduce chefs’ critically acclaimed New York concept, Root & Bone.
Activating the hotel’s more prominent front-of-house location right on Collins Avenue, the pop-up caters to locals, and hotel guests. It is the first Root & Bone location in South Florida for McInnis’ and Booth’s “honest Southern food.’’
The menu is based on McInnis’ Southern upbringing and features a garden-to-table experience with consciously sourced ingredients. Highlights include Grandma Daisy’s Angel Biscuits, Drunken Deviled Eggs, and Root & Bone Fried Chicken that’s sweet tea brined, lemon dusted and spiked with tabasco honey.
The pop-up restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating. The decor plays off the classic Art Deco vibe of the hotel while including rustic undertones that are in line with the southern flavor of the food.
