Tranquilo Golf Club at Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort has received a full renovation of its driving range, making it one of the most comprehensive practice facilities in Central Florida. The new $2.5 million practice facility encompasses 16 acres and has a layout ideal for a variety of skill levels.
The practice facility is the precursor to the Tranquilo Golf Club’s transition from a public course to one that beginning Feb. 1, 2018 will be accessible exclusively to guests staying at Four Seasons Resort Orlando, and to members of Tranquilo Golf Club.
“I am very excited to unveil this new offering at Tranquilo Golf Club,” said Eric Allain, Tranquilo’s general manager. “Our new practice facility is amazing and multifaceted. We have the space to accommodate the serious player working on his game at one of our extended practice stations, or for the resort guest wanting to hit some balls after a meeting. Our putting course is perfect for the local Family Golf member to spend some quality time with the kids before an early dinner at Plancha. We truly have something for everyone.”
The practice facility enhancements include:
- 400 yard double-ended driving range with a two-acre natural grass teeing area
- Chipping and pitching area totaling 14,000 square feet
- 26,000 square-foot, 18 hole putting course and practice putting green
- Additional putting greens totaling 13,000 square feet
- Driving range designed to play as a six-hole Par 3 course
- Greenside and fairway practice bunker
- TrackMan launch monitor video swing analysis
Allain said the 18-hole Putting Course is offered for play to members and Resort guests, at select times, and is ideal for families. The area is fully lighted, making the space a good venue for member gatherings and evening resort functions. Groups can coordinate activities such as glow-in-the-dark golf and cocktail receptions on the greens followed by dinner at the adjacent Tranquilo Clubhouse, which includes the Cuban-themed Plancha restaurant and a banquet room.
“We are thrilled to offer such a comprehensive practice facility,” says Director of Golf Instruction Rod Cook, who noted that the new golf amenity is one of the largest in the region. “The areas were designed to be both functional and spacious. I am excited about the versatility that this space will provide our members and Resort guests for both private and group instruction.”
Originally built in 1992 and designed by Tom Fazio as Disney’s Osprey Ridge, Fazio Design was brought back to update and enhance the course for its launch as Tranquilo Golf Club in 2014. The 6,901-yard, par 71 course has four sets of tees and is certified by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program for golf.
