Art fuses with fashion, libations, body and movement during this year’s Art Basel at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel Art Collective, Dec. 7-10.
The iconic South Beach resort – home to an expansive art collection after its $50 million redesign – is bringing together celebrated artists Sarah Raskey, Miguel Paredes and Atomik, for a series of live painting activations that capture the spirit of Art Basel and Miami Beach. From Wynwood-based Miguel Paredes’ bespoke collaboration with Hale Bob, to Miami graffiti legend Atomik’s art glass commissioned by Duvel and the hotel’s artist in residence Sarah Raskey’s mixed media creations; the Loews Miami Beach Hotel Art Collective offers an authentically local Art Basel experience.
Complementing the live painting is exhale South Beach Spa’s 4th annual Body + Art + Movement yoga event. Visitors and locals are invited to enjoy the following events as part of the Loews Miami Beach Hotel Art Collective.
Each event is complimentary and located on property in the heart of South Beach.
On Dec. 7, Paredes joins forces with distinctive fashion brand Hale Bob for an exclusive capsule collection combining his renowned street and pop art with the chic and feminine designs of Hale Bob. Guests can shop the curated trunk show collection and sip on premium spirits as Paredes paints to the sounds of live music and models showcase the one-of-a-kind designs.
Also on Dec. 7, guests can raise a glass to Basel as Duvel beer debuts its limited edition art glass, in partnership with Miami’s legendary graffiti artist Atomik. One of the first US artists selected to create a design for the highly sought after Duvel glass collection, the Duvel + Atomik art glass will be exclusively available at this launch event.
On Dec. 8, exhale South Beach presents: Body, Art + Movement on the St. Moritz Lawn from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm . The event includes a one-hour DJ infused yoga class featuring live art, followed by sips, snacks, mini spa therapies, make-up artists, hands-on art activities and trunk shows.
On Dec. 8, Chicago-based visionary and Loews Miami Beach Hotel artist in residence Raskey will showcase her mixed-media work in a live painting experience featuring champagne sips and live entertainment. Inspired by cultural references including spirituality, healing and ancient symbolism, Raskey’s work is integrated throughout the resort, from the 300-pound lobby installation “Stardust” to “Halo”- her in-room custom headboard design, to one-of-a-kind carpet designs.
