Tuesday is becoming my favorite day of the week, particularly at Boston’s on the Beach in Delray Beach. Beginning Sept. 19, from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Blue Tuesdays are back with award-winning blues at the legendary oceanfront hot spot.
“We are proud to celebrate our 10th season showcasing some of the finest acts in blues music today,” said “Famous” Frank Ward, the event’s host and organizer. “Every Tuesday night, guests can look forward to a memorable evening of great food and cocktails, and the best blues on the beach.”
Blue Tuesdays’ September performances include:
Sept. 19: Jason Ricci & the Bad Kind: One of the most respected harmonica players on the scene today, Jason Ricci has been electrifying the blues world with his revolutionary riffs for the past two decades. Ricci was a featured performer on Johnny Winter’s album Step Back, which won two awards in 2015: a Grammy Award for Best Blues Album and a Blues Music Award for Best Rock Blues Album. In April 2015, Ricci played harmonica on the song “Born in Chicago” with Zac Brown and Tom Morello at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony for The Paul Butterfield Blues Band.
Sept. 26: Shawn Holt & The Teardrops: Son of the legendary blues master Magic Slim, Shawn ‘Lil’ Slim’ Holt is one of the most dynamic blues and soul artists on the scene today. Internationally recognized as a natural-born guitar talent with booming vocals, Shawn Holt and his band The Teardrops have garnered top accolades and awards, including two 2014 awards for the album Daddy Told Me: a Blues Music Award for Best New Artist Debut and a Blues Blast Music Award for New Artist Debut Album.
