National Rum Day is Aug. 16, meaning it’s another reason for a party at PGA Commons in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Rocco’s Tacos, Spoto’s Oyster Bar, and The Cooper, each tucked within PGA Commons, are offering rum-centric drinks to celebrate the day.
Rum, by the way, is third-most popular spirit in the Unites States. It originated in the Caribbean in the 17th century when it was discovered that molasses, a boozy byproduct of sugar cane, could be fermented into alcohol and aged in wooden oak barrels.
