50 Ocean in Delray Beach debuts summer prix fixe menus

You don’t need any more reasons to experience 50 Ocean in Delray Beach, but just in case, here is another.

The popular eatery has introduced two summer prix fixe menus, each featuring locally-sourced ingredients, top-tier seafood, and views of the Atlantic Ocean.

The two-course lunch menu ($24) consists of contemporary classics, including decadent starters like creamy lobster bisque, and creative main plates, such as a shrimp BLT with Togarashi-spiced, local Hawaiian blue shrimp patty, applewood smoked bacon, tomato, chili aioli, and pickled ginger slaw.

The three-course dinner menu ($38) is culinary romp over land and by sea. Highlights include the half pot of mussels (with roasted shallots, white wine-chili broth, and fresh tomatoes), Freebird Farms grilled chicken (with smashed potatoes and lemon-thyme gravy), and an 18-hour braised short rib with butternut squash polenta.

Available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday

Lobster Bisque

Crostini and lobster chunks

Wedge Salad

Baby iceberg, Florida citrus, toasted almonds, fresh melon, Gorgonzola cheese,  and buttermilk ranch dressing

1/2 Pot of Mussels

Roasted shallots, white wine-chili broth, and fresh tomatoes

Main Plates

(Choice of one)

Chicken Wedge

Grilled Freebird Farms chicken breast, iceberg wedge, toasted almonds, thick-cut applewood smoked bacon,                 Toybox tomato, crumbled Gorgonzola, and buttermilk ranch dressing

Tacos

Choice of grouper or local shrimp, grilled, blackened, or fried, with “to-the-minute salsa,”  mango-corn relish, and Thai chili aioli

50 Burger

House-blended and cast-iron seared, with white cheddar cheese, B&B pickles, and lettuce, tomato,  and onion on a sesame seed brioche bun

Togarashi-spiced local shrimp, thick-cut applewood smoked bacon, tomato, chili aioli, and pickled ginger slaw
