BBX Capital says its plans to open its first franchised MOD Pizza store in the city of Parkland, Fla., in late September, at the Shoppes of Parkland.
Known for its individual, artisan-style pizza and salads and “people-first’ culture, Florida’s first MOD Pizza will include a large outdoor patio and MOD’s signature “Wall of Fame,” a photo collage that pays homage to the local community and people from the MOD journey.
BBX Capital, a franchisee of MOD Pizza, will be partnering with a local non-profit for its MOD Pizza grand opening, who will receive 100 percent of all pizza sales from opening day.
“MOD Pizza is the original superfast pizza experience and has already established itself as a leader across the country. MOD Pizza also has a presence in the U.K.,” said Jarett Levan, president of BBX Capital. “We look forward to opening our first MOD store in Parkland and introducing the local market and the state of Florida to this great fast-casual pizza experience.”
BBX Capital plans to open four additional MOD stores in Florida in 2017, with locations already confirmed in Coral Springs, Kendall and Jacksonville. In 2018, the company said it plans to add 10 to 12 stores in the Florida market. BBX Capital is MOD’s exclusive franchisee for the state of Florida with the goal of developing up to 60 MOD locations throughout the state over the next five to seven years.
MOD’s individual, artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, using fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces. Customers create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of more than 30 featured toppings; or they can choose from a menu of MOD “classic” pizzas.
Pizzas are hand-cooked in an 800-degree oven and salads are individually hand-tossed for each customer. The menu is rounded out with handspun milkshakes, house-made lemonades and iced teas, and local craft beers and wine.
