City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill in West Palm Beach has been recognized by Wine Spectator’s coveted 2017 Restaurant Awards. The restaurant, located in the CityPlace shopping and entertainment district, is recognized for its wine program from top destinations for wine enthusiasts from all 50 states and more than 75 countries. The awards are given across three categories: Award of Excellence – with 2,335; Best of Award of Excellence – with 1,168; and the Grand Award – with 89 winners in each category.
City Cellar has won the Award of Excellence since 2009. It’s curated wine list currently features 470 different selections and a wine cellar that holds between 3,500 and 4,000 bottles, which this year helped elevate to the Best of Award of Excellence listing.
“City Cellar has raised the bar when it comes to offering an excellent wine list that showcases a broad depth across multiple winegrowing regions, as well as representing a vertical depth of top producers for serious wine lovers,” said Michael “Iggy” Ignatowicz, general manager of City Cellar. “We have a superior wine program with more than 70 wines by the glass, our popular Wine Down Mondays, wine menu pairings, and wine flights with cheese and charcuterie plates. Our Level II sommelier, Gradon Thibeault, is one of the very few fromager in Florida.”
The complete list of award winners is available in print in Wine Spectator’s August issue and online at Restaurants.WineSpectator.com, where visitors can search and access exclusive content on the more than 3,500 restaurants.
