The Celino South Beach, located on Miami’s famed Ocean Drive and one of the largest developments that the iconic street has ever seen, has named Lucy Martin as General Manager. Martin will lead the launch of boutique lifestyle hotel that features 132 guestrooms, and rooftop and pool amenities. The Celino South Beach is scheduled to open this fall.
“Miami Beach continues to attract guests from near and far,” Martin said. “Between the increase in tourism, warm climate, renovations to the convention center and abundance of cultural institutions, Ocean Drive is the ideal location to develop a project the size and caliber of The Celino South Beach. I am honored to take on the challenge of ensuring its success and being part of the reimagining of Ocean Drive, South Beach’s most vibrant strip known around the world.”
Most recently, Martin was the general manager at Shore Club in South Beach and part of the pre-opening leadership team for 1 Hotel South Beach. A native of Manchester, England, Martin’s tenure with Morgans Hotel Group allowed her to hold various executive positions at London, Scottsdale and Miami properties.
The Celino South Beach, located at 640 Ocean Drive, is currently undergoing a $40 million redevelopment that will merge the historic Park Central Hotel, Imperial Hotel, Heathcote Apartments and a new, modern, five-story atrium building to establish itself as the newest anchor of South Beach.
Once complete, The Celino will feature four interconnecting buildings with 132 guest rooms, including 12 signature balcony suites and 14 one-bedroom suites, and three restaurants and bars.
The Celino South Beach is a signature project of Optimum Group, and managed by Highgate, a premier real estate investment and hospitality management company whose growing portfolio includes more than 100 properties in gateway cities worldwide.
