One of my favorite Hawaii resorts – the historic Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort is opening its first-ever, on-property logo shop to celebrate the hotel’s design, amenities, and Rainbow Tower Mosaic – probably the most famous artistic landmark in Waikiki since 1968.
Named Anuenue or “rainbow”, the shop will sell curated items of the Rainbow Mural, Hilton Hawaiian Village logo memorabilia, and the resort’s own exclusive coconut papaya skin and hair care line featuring beneficial botanicals like mango, pineapple and ginger root.
To celebrated the store’s opening, Hilton Hawaiian Village is teaming up with Spoonflower – an online community of 3.5 million users that create on demand, custom-designed textiles – to present four weekly design challenges through the month of June. Selected designs will be featured on apparel and accessories at Anuenue and online at www.shophawaiianvillage.com
Named Hawaiia’s “Most Instagrammed Destination’’ three years in a row by Instagram, the resort encourages artists to create designs highlighting the beauty, natural complexity and fun of Hilton Hawaiian Village.
“We hope that artists are inspired to share their own memories, experiences or interpretations of the village through their submissions,” said Debi Bishop, managing director of Hilton Hawaiian Village. “This is a great opportunity for them to showcase their work and potentially have it be part of the memories and keepsakes of visitors who will be visiting the Anuenue gift shop.
Hilton Hawaiian Village features more than 90 shops and services, 20 restaurants, lounges and bars; and every Friday evening, it sets the stage for a celebration of Hawaiian culture and entertainment ending in a fireworks show.
