Restaurateur Louie Bossi hosting inaugural Taste of Recovery in Delray Beach

There is often more behind a restaurant than just great food. Louie Bossi, Executive Chef/Partner at Big Time Restaurant Group’s Louie Bossi’s Ristorante, Bar & Pizzeria, is a perfect example.

Bossi will host the inaugural Taste of Recovery (tasteofrecovery.com), a benefit for The Crossroads Club on June 3 from 6 pm to 10 pm at the Old School Square Pavilion in Delray Beach. Guests will receive bites from a variety of area restaurants, along with live entertainment and desserts. The cost is $40 per ticket.

Delray Beach has a large number of events throughout the year, but this is one of the better ones.

Bossi has a pair of restaurants, including the recently-opened Louie Bossi’s Ristorante, Bar & Pizzeria in Boca Raton to go with his original location on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale. Big Time Restaurant Group plans to open a third Bossi’s restaurant next year in Delray Beach.

“Almost every family, including my own, has been impacted by addiction and I’m proud to be in my ninth year of recovery, which might not have been possible without the support of The Crossroads Club,” Bossi said.  “This event is a tribute to all who have lost their lives and to those in recovery. The restaurant industry in particular has large numbers of employees in recovery.”

The Crossroads Club, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary, is a non-profit organization in Delray Beach that, at no charge, provides meeting space for 12-Step recovery groups.

Nationally known comedian, SARGE, will MC the event and comedian Rick Corso will perform.  Corso was selected as one of Showtime’s Comedy Club All Stars and was a member of Comedy Central’s “The A List.” The Jazz and Swing Society and Dave Scott and the Reckless Shots will perform, as well.

Participating restaurants include Big Time Restaurant Group restaurants Louie Bossi’s Boca, Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar and City Oyster & Sushi Bar.  Other restaurants participating include Buccan, Culinary Convenience, Farmer’s Table, The Grille on Congress, Mario’s Ocean Ave, Max’s Harvest, Pappa’s Tapas, Tucker Duke’s and Rebel House.

Participating chefs will compete for cash prizes for “Best Bite.”

Seasons 52 will provide desserts and LaVazza will provide coffee.
