Summer menus sizzle at Chez l’Épicier on Palm Beach

May 1 means the unofficial end to the winter season on Palm Beach. It also means the start of some great summer dining deals. One of my favorite Palm Beach eateries – Chez l’Epicier – will offer its summer menu May 1 to Oct. 30.

That summer menu features dinner specials such as all-you-eat P.E.I mussels and French fries on Thursdays. The mussels, as the pièce de résistance of summer, are prepared with five different sauces – white wine, shallot and garlic; Dijon mustard; Blue cheese; coconut milk and curry; and tomato cream sauce, celery, bell pepper, plus the hand cut, house-made French fries.

Wednesdays feature cuisine from the wood burning, brick-oven. Farm to Table to Flatbreads are artisan, hearth-baked flatbreads and pizzas with a market basket of local ingredients and toppings. Specialties include shrimp and chicken with pesto, red onion, mozzarella and sun dried tomato cooked to crispy perfection. The Mozzarella, pear, goat cheese, caramelized onion, honey, walnut and arugula is off the charts good.

There are six versions of flats breads and pizzas with ingredients changing weekly. Menu items from the brick oven will include roasted chicken with grilled lemon, meatballs and eggplant.

By the way, guests willing to dine early can take advantage of early dinner specials featuring 50% savings on all entrees from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. The restaurant is also offering a three-course summer prix fixe menu and includes a choice from four starters, four entrees and three desserts for $34 per person.

The highly-acclaimed flagship Chez l’Épicier in Montreal was established in 2000. Chef/ Owner Laurent Godbout and his wife, Veroniqué Deneault introduced their farm-to-table cuisine (with French Canadian specialties) to the states and opened the Palm Beach location in July 2015.
