Here’s another reason why Okeechobee Steakhouse in West Palm Beach is one of my favorite restaurants: The Bourbon Room.
On June 14 and 15, the famed eatery – Florida’s oldest steakhouse – will host Dan Garrison, owner of the first and oldest legal whiskey distillery in Texas – Garrison Brothers. Garrison will present guests with his favorite pairings, selected from a series of bourbons and matched with six courses of the steakhouse’s recipes.
Among the spirits to be featured is the Garrison Brothers’ popular Cowboy Bourbon named “American Micro Whisky of the Year” in 2014 by Whisky Bible. Okeechobee Steakhouse will showcase menu favorites, including braised rabbit bruschetta, roast beef salad and filet of ribeye carpaccio to start, followed by entrées of cured pork belly and surf and turf. An orange crush strawberry shortcake will be served for dessert.
Each dinner is limited to 20 people per seating and priced at $150 per person – a great deal for an evening of steak and bourbon.
