Stir Sushi Social – inside the resort’s Stir lobby lounge – is one of South Florida’s best pop-up eateries, featuring a terrific variety of sushi, sashimi, egg rolls and dim sun prepared by Executive Chef Josh Thomsen. It’s also only a few feet from the resort’s pool and beach area – always a “must visit” when at Eau Palm Beach.
“On Thursdays I do the butcher block (pop up) with an old-school hand cranked meat slicer and offer a variety of different meats and cheeses,’’ Thomsen said. “But I got to thinking, what else can we do?’’
The pop-up Stir Sushi Social popped into his head. Thus, items such as the Palm Beach Roll, with lobster and caviar, were born. Wash it down with Lucky Buddha beer – imported from China – and the evening is off to a great start.

“The way I envision it, Stir Sushi Social is just another color in the crayon box,’’ Thomsen said. “It’s finger food and sushi – simple bits because hopefully guests will be going into Angle, our signature restaurant, or Temple Orange or a banquet.
“I’m not boxed in here, so we’re always trying to come with new things.’’
And add another color to the crayon box.
