One of my favorite Miami Spice destinations always has been Bistro One LR at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach. It’s a contemporary bistro that features fresh, local ingredients, as well as a great Sunday Brunch, all the while overlooking the hotel’s pool deck and South Beach itself.
Bistro One LR has one of the deeper Miami Spice menus that shows off Chef de Cuisine Luis R. Quant’s flare for multi-cultural flavors.
Those multi-flavors, Quant said,” makes Miami a world dinning destination.’’
This is Quant’s seventh Miami Spice, so he knows what it takes to create a Spice menu that’s flavorful and diverse.
“I’ve learned the more variety we offer our guest the more they have to choose from, and once our guest tries our cuisine, they will come back for more,’’ Quant said.
This year’s dinner menu ($39) includes Mahi-mahi with Kale and garbanzo stew and citrus cream; Pork chop with Chistorra and vegetable, Shoestring potato, fried egg and pisto Manchego; and Squid ink risotto. The Deviled Eggs (my favorite) and Gazpacho each lead the list of terrific appetizers.
“Our Watermelon salad and the Duck tartane with house made duck confit,’’ Quant said. “My favorite is the Chicken rice dish with crusty rice, two- way chicken (chicharron wing drummettes, sous vide breast a la plancha). This dish is what we think Miami should taste like.’’
And that taste is great.
